Photographing Aron and Sharon’s Tuscan wedding was like documenting a real life fairy tale. Originally from Norway, these high school sweethearts now live in Australia and decided to get married in Italy. I mean, why the hell not?
The couple found the perfect location to house their intimate little wedding. A beautiful Tuscan villa on a small farm, perched atop a hill overlooking the picturesque Tuscan yellow and green landscape. The guests – who all stayed on the property – arrived four or five days prior to the wedding day to soak up sun, explore and spend quality time with the bridal couple.
A stone throw from the villa lies Radicondoli, a picturesque Italian hilltop town where old nonna’s and nonno’s line the streets drinking espresso over endless games of backgammon. On the morning of the day before the wedding, I took some photos of Aron and Sharon as we explored the streets of this charming little town together. You can find those photos here.
Now to the wedding day. A communal Italian breakfast to start the day off right, followed by preparations and a traditional Norwegian ceremony. One of my favourite moments happened just prior to the commencement of the ceremony when Sharon and Aron got together with their backs facing each others to pray, tears lining their cheeks as they did.
The love these high school sweet hearts have for each other is nothing short of radiant and overflowing onto everyone around them. The reception and photos that followed were nothing short of emotional, communal, romantic and beautiful in every essence of the word. I’ll let the photos do the talking from here on.
